About Wilfred

Data Is More Than Numbers. It Is Evidence for Better Decisions.

I am Wilfred Nyakeri, a Statistician, Data Analyst and Research Consultant with experience helping individuals, researchers, businesses and organizations transform raw and complex data into meaningful insights.

My work focuses on using statistics, data analytics, research and business intelligence to understand problems, uncover patterns, answer important questions and support evidence-based decision-making.

I believe effective data analysis goes beyond knowing how to use analytical software. It requires understanding the problem, the data, the appropriate methodology and, most importantly, what the results actually mean.

What I Do

From Questions to Evidence

I work across the complete analytical process, from understanding the initial problem and preparing data to conducting analysis, interpreting results and communicating findings.

My areas of expertise include:

Data Analytics Statistical Analysis Research Analytics Business Intelligence Data Management Data Visualization Econometrics Survey Analysis Predictive Analytics Forecasting Analytical Reporting

I support both one-time projects and ongoing engagements, depending on the nature and scope of the work.

My Approach

Understand. Analyze. Interpret. Communicate.

01

Understand

Every project begins with understanding the question behind the data. Before choosing a statistical test, software or model, I first establish what the analysis needs to accomplish.

02

Prepare

Reliable analysis requires reliable data. I clean, validate, restructure and prepare datasets to ensure they are suitable for the required analytical methods.

03

Analyze

I select analytical and statistical techniques based on the data, objectives and questions being investigated.

04

Interpret

Statistical outputs alone are not enough. I translate results into clear findings that can be understood in the context of the original problem or research question.

05

Communicate

Results are presented through appropriate reports, tables, visualizations, dashboards and recommendations so that the findings can be effectively communicated and applied.

Technical Expertise

Tools I Work With

I work with multiple statistical, programming, data management and business intelligence tools, allowing me to select technologies according to the requirements of each project.

Statistical Analysis

Stata SPSS SAS R

Programming & Data

Python SQL Google BigQuery

Business Intelligence & Visualization

Power BI Tableau

Data Management & Reporting

Microsoft Excel

My focus is not simply on using a particular tool, but on choosing the appropriate analytical approach and technology for the problem being solved.

Experience With Real-World & Large-Scale Data

From Real Data to Practical Evidence

My work and training emphasize practical analysis using real-world datasets, including large public health, healthcare, cancer, economic and population databases.

I have experience working with and applying analytical workflows to data sources such as:

NHANES

National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

NAMCS

National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey

NHAMCS

National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey

World Bank Indicators

Global economic, development and population indicators

SEER

Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results cancer data

TCGA

The Cancer Genome Atlas

CDC WONDER

Public health, mortality and population data

Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS)

Canadian population health and health determinants data

My work with real-world databases can involve the complete analytical workflow:

Data Extraction Data Cleaning Dataset Integration/Merging Variable Construction Missing Data Assessment Exploratory Analysis Statistical Modelling Visualization Interpretation Reporting

I use tools such as Stata, R, Python, SPSS, SAS, SQL, Power BI and Excel depending on the dataset, analytical requirements and intended outputs.

Working with real-world databases requires more than knowing statistical commands. It requires understanding data structures, variables, coding systems, study designs, documentation, appropriate statistical methods and the context in which the data were collected.

This practical approach allows me to support projects involving public health, healthcare, epidemiology, cancer research, economic and development indicators, population studies, business analytics and other data-intensive research.

It also forms an important part of my training approach: wherever appropriate, learners work with real datasets rather than artificial examples, helping them develop skills they can transfer to actual research and professional projects.

My Professional Philosophy

The Question Comes Before the Tool.

Having access to powerful analytical software does not automatically produce meaningful insights. Good analysis starts with asking:

That philosophy guides how I approach both client projects and professional training.
